These terms cover how you use thefishingcollective.nz and how we sell gear. By browsing or placing an order, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

Who we are

The Fishing Collective is an online-only New Zealand apparel project. We don’t have a shopfront. We ship within New Zealand. Questions go to info@thefishingcollective.nz.

Using this site

You need to be 18 or older to place an order, or have a parent or guardian do it for you. Don’t use the site to break the law, interfere with other people’s use of it, scrape it, or try to get around its security. We can refuse service or cancel an account if those lines are crossed.

Product photos and colours are as close as we can get them. Screens vary, so treat them as a guide, not a lab match. Stock, descriptions, and prices can change. If we spot a genuine pricing error after you order, we’ll contact you before taking payment or we’ll refund you — we won’t quietly charge the wrong amount.

Orders

An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send a confirmation email. We can decline or cancel an order (for example if an item is out of stock, we can’t ship to the address, or the order looks fraudulent). If we’ve already taken payment, we’ll refund it.

Once an order is placed we can’t guarantee changes to size, colour, address, or extras. Email us straight away at info@thefishingcollective.nz and we’ll try if it hasn’t been packed. After it ships, use the returns process.

Limited drops and preorders are sold in a window, then made. Estimated ship dates are on the product or drop page. They’re estimates, not a promise of a calendar day.

Prices and payment

Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless we say otherwise. Shipping is shown at checkout. We take payment through WooPayments. We don’t store full card numbers on our servers.

Title in the goods passes to you once we’ve received payment in full and the order has been dispatched.

Shipping

We currently ship inside New Zealand only. Risk in the goods passes when the courier collects the parcel from us, except where New Zealand consumer law says otherwise. Use a complete delivery address. If a parcel comes back because of a bad address, we may charge to send it again.

Returns, exchanges, and faults

Change-of-mind returns, exchanges, sale items, and faulty gear are covered on our Returns page. That page forms part of these terms.

Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If a guarantee applies, you still have those remedies.

Your content

If you send us photos, stories, or ideas — email, forms, social, or otherwise — you let us use them to run and talk about the Collective, without paying you, unless we’ve agreed something else in writing. Don’t send material you don’t have the right to share.

Our content

The name The Fishing Collective, the site, photos, and designs are ours (or used with permission). Don’t copy them for your own shop or merch without asking.

Other sites

We may link out. We’re not responsible for those sites or their privacy practices.

If something goes wrong

We’ll take reasonable care with the site and your order. We’re not promising the site will be up every minute. To the extent New Zealand law allows, we’re not liable for indirect loss (like lost profits or data). That limit does not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability we cannot legally limit — including Consumer Guarantees Act rights for consumers.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands.

New Zealand law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. New Zealand courts have jurisdiction, except where a consumer is entitled to use another forum under New Zealand law.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version here. The updated terms apply from the date they go up. Orders already placed stay on the terms that applied when you ordered.
